To do nothing is to be nothing.

My name is Caelyn. I currently exist as my first name AT ceruleanrodent.com. Feel free to drop me a line. I don't usually bite strangers.

I have no idea what people who don't know me would actually want to know about me. I have no idea what the people who do know me don't know about me and wouldn't find boring to find out. I have no idea how boring this probably is for you to read.

For those of you considering giving me money to do interesting things, I have a resume. Do you need to make a resume?

I am a recent graduate from the University of Waterloo (B. Math Computer Science and Pure Math, double major)

I currently own only three computers. Gogol is an AMD-64 laptop running Ubuntu; but has suffered from his years of regular use and now has a dead screen. Turgenev is the first computer I built from scratch. And kuzmin is my little linux running eee. I still have a windows partition (now on Turgenev), in case I ever feel the urge to game.

I like to read, code, and cook.

I have lived in 5 different provinces in Canada, and have been to all the provinces except Newfoundland and all the territories except Nunavut. In late April/early May of 2009, I traveled to New York City. Outside of that, I am poorly traveled

English is my first spoken language. My French is passable and my Russian is very limited.

My very, very first programming was copying and pasting hypertalk scripts around in hypercard. After that came playing around with BASIC on a Sinclair 1500 (2k of memory!!). Currently, I do most of my coding in TCL, Python, Scheme and C. I wrote a Along the way, I have picked up HTML with CSS, LaTeX, Pascal (don't ask) and a lobotomized version of MIPS assembly. Java I learned by writing a compiler for it for a course. I know a smattering of SQL, javaScript, PHP and Perl. After that, I want to eventually know C++, Prolog, Perl (properly, if such a thing can exist), Haskell and Lisp.

Here is my very first post to the internet: Hello From Caelyn. No one answered. I blame all of you for my lonely childhood!
